The Story

Qwertykeys Neo65 Cu

A Study in Materials.

The Neo65 Cu is a study in material difference. It builds on a foundation of the popular Neo65 and replaces the entire bottom case with a single, solid block of CNC-machined copper or brass. The result is you get a keyboard that looks like a work of art and delivers clean, deep, and resonant a typing sound. The density of copper and brass absorbs unwanted vibrations, creating a pure sound that comes directly from your switches and plate, not layers of foam.

A Living Finish

Providing a raw, natural alternative to anodized coatings, the copper and brass case will change as you use it. Over time, it will oxidize and develop a unique patina, a visual story of its environment and its history on your desk. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Each board becomes a one-of-a-kind piece that is distinctly yours.

Paired with a precision-machined aluminium top case and a large, mirror-finished PVD stainless steel weight, this design features a new layered waistline and soft, curved contours that make Neo65 Cu look just as good as it feels.

A Living Finish

A Dual-Mount System for a Tailored Feel

The typing feel on Neo65 Cu is yours to define, thanks to a versatile dual-mounting system that complements the solid metal case.

For those who prefer a more direct and firm response, the Isolated Top Mount provides the classic feel of a top-mounted board without the harshness. By using thick silicone gaskets around the mounting screws, the design eliminates any direct metal-to-metal contact. This prevents sonic inconsistencies or "pinging," giving you a clean, responsive keystroke that feels connected to the case.

If you favour a softer experience, the PCB Gasket Mount isolates the plate from the case with soft gaskets. This creates a more cushioned, flexible, and gentler typing experience that’s perfect for long sessions, allowing the plate to flex independently from the heavy chassis.

Choose between a firm Isolated Top Mount or a flexible PCB Gasket Mount to match your preference.

Questions & Specifications

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the copper and brass bottom cases?

Both materials are very dense and offer a significant increase in weight and a deeper sound signature compared to aluminum. Copper is slightly denser and will develop a greenish-blue patina over time. Brass is also extremely dense and will develop a darker, more muted patina. The choice is primarily aesthetic.

Does the Neo65 Cu come with switches and keycaps?

No, this is a barebones kit. It includes the case, weight, your chosen PCB, a plate, stabilizers, and all the necessary hardware for assembly. You will need to provide your own switches and keycaps.

How do I care for the copper/brass finish?

To preserve the original look, use only a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use alcohol or other harsh chemicals, as they can damage the thin anti-oxidation coating. If you want to encourage the natural patina, simply use the board as you normally would.

Which plate material should I choose?

This depends on the sound and feel you want. Carbon Fiber is the stiffest and provides a higher-pitched, clackier sound. Polycarbonate (PC) and Polypropylene (PP) are much more flexible, offering a softer typing feel and a deeper, "thockier" sound. Aluminum is a classic all-rounder, providing a firm feel that isn't as rigid as carbon fiber.
